 Elvis is a little angel. He came to us when a wonderful vet refused to euthanize him. He was brought to her clinic because he couldn't walk and he was too much trouble. She saw the light in his eyes and asked his owner to give Elvis to her so she could find him a good home. She neutered him, gave him a dental and rid him of fleas and tapeworms. After two weeks she drove 5 hours to take him to a DRNA foster home. She even ordered him a cart online to be delivered to his new home.
Elvis is 9 years old and only wants to be cuddled and loved. He has several compressed vertebrae but doesn't appear to be in pain. He plays just like the other dogs in his foster home. He had been going for laser acupuncture treatments and has been doing wonderful. After the third treatment he began to walk upright! He still needs to build up muscle in his back end but that will come with time and exercise. He will soon be starting water treadmill therapy. After watching him and looking at his xrays it is believed that he may have been kept in a kennel that was too small for him which would make him sit hunched over all the time. All of his therapy is expensive but when you look in his eyes and he cuddles on your lap you know that you would pay anything to make him feel better so he can be a regular dog again.
