Meet sweet Max! He came to us because his owner went into hospice. Max has a great temperament and gets along well with other dogs. He loves to cuddle with his person! Max had several back issues throughout his life which were resolved with medication, rest, laser therapy and acupuncture. Because of these episodes, his back legs don't have the strength to do stairs. He walks fine with an occasional stumble but will need one-level living with no stairs inside or outside. Also, he cant be allowed to jump up or jump down from furniture. We are seeking dachshund savvy adopters who have dealt with back issues in the past with a previous or current dog who can help Max watch his weight with diet and mild exercise. Max needs a laid back doggie friend (his size and age) in his new home. Looking to place Max into a home with a good-sized fenced yard with no pool, no doggie door, no invisible/electric fencing and of course no stairs.. Max shouldn't have accidents in the house if he's taken out regularly.. He loves to be outside in the fenced yard. *** This dog is being fostered in Maryland.
