UPDATE!! Ellie has lost 6 lbs since we've had her with measured feedings and multiple walks every day!! Ellie is very special! She definitely doesn't act her age. She is active, loves walks, playing with her toys and snuggling on the couch. She loves the four children in her foster home and sleeps with them in their beds every night. She came to DRNA from a shelter because her beloved owner died and his family was too busy to keep Ellie. That was their loss because to know Ellie is to love her. She has lost six pounds through diet and exercise since she came to us but still has a few more pounds to go. Losing weight has really increased her energy level. We would like to see her go to a home where someone is home so she wont be by herself. She also needs walks to continue her weight loss and because she LOVES walks! She also loves children so children in the home or visiting children would be great.. Ellie does have quite a few lumps and bumps due to old age but they are all cosmetic and don't impact her health. *** Ellie is being fostered in Maryland. All things considered, local adopters will be given preference to facilitate a home visit. Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt her.***.
