Biography
Milo is a dachshund mix, is 1.5 - 2.5 yrs old and is 14lbs. He was found as a stray in Texas. He entered DRNA over 6 months ago with a massive load of heartworms, giardia, and was emaciated. Milo has gained weight and is doing better. He has finished his heartworm treatment, has been retested and is now heartworm free! Yippie!
His foster mom feels that before coming into our program, Milo never lived in a home. He has been receiving intensive training with his foster mom and has done very well. He has good house manners. He is housebroken, crate trained and has learned the "Sit, Lay, Paw and is working on Wait (stay) and Come" commands. Milo LOVES his toys and likes playing catch. He is still in training to bring the toys back.
His foster mom has also been working with him on leash reactiveness as it pertains to other walkers and dogs. He has shown slight improvement but still struggles. That said, we think it best that he goes to a home with a securely fenced yard. He is high energy and would love an active adopter or dog buddy that would play with him in the yard several times a day. He is also a love bug and LOVES to snuggle with his people. Milo’s adopter should patient and be willing to continue his training.
Milo's adoption fee is $275. Adopter must be willing to drive to Pasadena, MD to meet/adopt Milo.
