Biography
This sweetheart has been the most wonderful little foster. When she first came to us, she was so afraid and only wanted to be in the safety of the cozy crate we set up for her. We would leave the door open at all times so she had the option to come out in her own time. After a week of observing us and our other dogs, she felt confident enough to start venturing out on her own. It wasn’t too long after that she started showing us her adorable and silly personality.
Sally was left behind when her family moved. A kind hearted man noticed that no one was looking after her so he took her to the garage at his workplace would she would have shelter, food & water while he tried to find a rescue that could take her. This is one of those cases that DRNA stepped in even though she is not a dachshund. Sally looks to be a cross between a Maltese Terrier & Yorkie but we think there may be some long haired doxie mixed in there somewhere. :) She is young, 1-2 years old and she is small, only 12lbs.
Sally would make a perfect pet friendly condo pup. She doesn’t bark, walks well on a leash and doesn’t require a yard. She is completely housebroken and even lets us know when she needs to go out. If we are not home at that time, she will go on the puppy pad we set up at the sliding door. Sally loves toys but will need to be watched so she doesn’t eat the stuffing once the toy has met its fate. She gets along very well with other dogs and tries to get them to play, so if you have a dog about her size and age, she will make a nice playmate and sister. She does best around dogs that do not bark, it unnerves her. She will require a quiet household without young children. She has not been around cats but has a high prey drive so might not be a good fit.
Sally's adoption fee is $275. Must be willing to travel to Gambrills, MD to meet/adopt Sally.
