Biography

Boogie came into rescue b/c of a very caring samaritan, as she was concerned that he & his companion dog were living outside in the NC extreme weather. She spoke w/ the owner & owner relinquished the dogs. They had No vetting, were intact, & Boogie had an issue w/ ambulation. X-rays were taken of Boogie's hips/pelvis & showed either an old injury (now completely healed) or possible birth defect, as left leg little shorter than right leg. Boogie still walks & runs, but has some difficulty w/ steps/inclines. Is housetrained. UTD on vaccs. & on monthly heartworm preventative & receives monthly flea/tick preventative. Definitely a very loving dog, that loves attention! Is fostered w/ 3 other dachshunds (1 is a puppy & 2 are seniors) & all cohabitate very peacefully & lovingly. Loves people! B/c of his leg issue, no small/young children. Older children that know how to handle & treat a dachshund will be considered for the family adopting. Adoption fee $275. Fostered in Greenville, NC, & no long transports.
