Biography
DOB 3/07/14

Meet this little morsel of chocolate love. He along with his son were surrendered to DRNA on March 19th from PA. The owners gave them up due to financial hardship. Barney came to us with very long matted fur and has alopecia on his back, ears and tail. We are not sure if he ever got a bath until he came to us. We know that he does enjoy them because he falls asleep with his head on your arm as you suds him up. On 3/21/17 he was neutered, got a dental (only lost 4 teeth), and got all the shots he was due for. Unfortunately during his vetting we were told he had Lyme disease. He is currently on a month long regimen of antibiotics. This is to clear up the signs of any clinical signs of this disease. He will always test positive for this but the vet says he can live a long happy life and it should not hinder it in any way.
He got pampered on the 3rd of April and had a spa day where he was shaved down to get rid of all the mats and to give him a chance to regrow healthy fur. I must admit he's very cute with short hair and he seems to like his new coif as well. We were told that Barney and his son were bonded but the longer they were both with us we realized this was not the case. He is crate trained and potty trained. He did mark his territory quite a bit when he first came to us but since he's been neutered it has subsided. He loves to be outside enjoying the nice weather we've been having; sometimes so much so we have a hard time getting him back inside. He enjoys the company of our pack of doxies that he would be a great addition to the pack of dogs you already have. He also enjoys lazy Sundays in your lap getting rub downs and your undivided attention. Even though it took some time for him to adjust to the big bed with us humans, it is where he loves to sleep the best; under the covers of course!
He goes for a neuter/dental recheck and boosters April 13th and will be done with his antibiotics the end of April. He's currently being fostered in Seven Hills, OH. Barney is accepting applications and putting aside time in his busy schedule to let you come meet him. Pictures do not do him justice, you must see his chocolately goodness in person. Any questions feel free to email his foster mama at kmandml@hotmail.com. His adoption fee is $275.00.
