Biography
Hello Everyone!! My name is Marty McFly! I was found on the streets of CT and taken to a shelter. They guess my age to be about 12 yrs old. They have no idea how long I had been there on my own, nor the last time I had eaten. I was very weak and extremely thin and this causes me to not be able to walk very well, I was very wobbly. My friends at the shelter were not sure if I also had some back issues since my back legs were weak. They really didn’t think there is any hope for me. Thankfully, my shelter friends saw what a sweetheart I was and reached out to DRNA to take me in.
I have been with my foster family for a few weeks now and have gained some strength and muscle back. I saw the vet and my bloodwork all came back great and I am HW negative. They determined, I have no back issues but I do have arthritis in my back legs and some lumps on my back “ankles” but the vet says they are not bothering me so doesn’t recommend removing them. My foster mom gives me some medicine to help my arthritis. I still wobble a bit when I walk and cannot go up and down stairs but my foster mom says I try and get around with all the other dogs… I even try and run sometimes (especially when it is time to eat!!!).
I also cannot see or hear well (I can see shadows and hear when the door opens/closes) but I smell when you walk in the room, my tail starts wagging and I can’t wait to give you a wet kiss!!! I LOVE to cuddle on your lap with you and give you tons and tons of kisses. I am definitely a cuddlebug. I don’t really like to be in a crate but my foster mom lets me sleep in my own bed in her room at night. She doesn’t like me in the big bed because she is afraid I will fall off and hurt myself (but I really would love to cuddle with her in her big bed!!).
I am potty trained and bark to go outside to do my business. I LOVE TO EAT!!! My foster mom laughs at me every time she gets my food out because I bark at her and run to where she feeds me (and my bark can be loud!!). Food makes me HAPPY but I don’t like my foster brother and sisters near me when I eat. I’m afraid they are going to steal my food. Except for when I am eating, I love hanging around with my foster brother and sisters. We get along very well. I even tolerate the cat in our house. I love to be wherever my foster family is. I just want to be part of a family. I just had a dental on June 1st so my teeth are all cleaned up. I am now ready to find my forever home!!!
Marty is located near Buffalo, NY. His adoption fee is waived during the month of June only. Please fill out an application at www.drna.org
