Max was taken to a local shelter because his owner didn't have time for him. He was very fearful at the shelter so they contacted DRNA. It's obvious that he didn't have the best life because it takes him awhile to trust people. He is a sweet gentle dog. He mixes well with other dogs. He likes the activity of other dogs around him. He would not do well as an only dog. He would be bored. Expect him to be apprehensive at first. It took a few hours and a lot of chicken before he relaxed. Now he follows us around the house. Max will put his face in your hands for you to pet him. He quickly figured out our doggie door and goes in and out a lot. He doesn't stay out long and when he is outside he hangs around the door. When Max is inside he sits in the doorway to look outside or he sits on the bed and looks out the window. He usually sleeps on our bed but sometimes he will choose to sleep on the floor next to the bed. He likes to sleep under the blankets. Max eats well and is currently getting a mix of dry and canned food. He knows to avoid the other dogs when they are eating. Max is not destructive. He likes toys but leaves other things alone. Max doesn't bark a lot. He gets excited at feeding time and will join in when the other dogs bark. All in all he is a quiet pleasant dog who will return your love. Cries a little when left so no apartments. ****Applicant should be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Max.**** |
