| Hi! My name is Bailey and I'm a long haired dapple. My foster Mom says my fur is the softest she has ever touched - it's like cashmere! I'm just a guy looking for the right home. My former owners were trying to do the right thing by taking on a former mill dog, but after about a year they decided I needed to find a home that was better suited for me. I'm quirky - sometimes I get a burst of energy and I'll run laps. I'm timid and I get scared of new things and would prefer a quiet home. I'd do fine in a home with or without another dog. I'm a happy, jovial guy but I'm just not your typical dachshund, and I need a forever home that understands what I've been through and will be willing to continue to work with me to build trust and my socialization skills. I'm not housetrained, but my foster mom puts a doggie diaper on me and I do fine or she gates me in the kitchen when she isn't home to watch me. I like to go on walks! I see a side walk and I start trotting! The other thing I like to do is eat despite missing a lot of my teeth. I feel so much better after that dental, and I'm so much more energetic!
