Biography
Skipper here! UPDATE. Thanks to all you good people out there DRNA has already had a TON of good applications for me so we are going to take me off the available list while they get sorted out. Meanwhile I have shown some aggressive behavior toward a strange man although I made up with him immediately so we're not sure what that's all about but we will get that nipped in the bud before I go to my forever home. Foster Mom says I am a happy-go-lucky little guy with tons of personality. I was surrendered by my human owner's son to a shelter (go figure) and I was kind of scared there but those folks were sweet as could be and DRNA rescued me pretty soon. I settled in immediately at my foster home, and I get along easily with both large and small dogs. I love to play, but I am also happy to let the other dogs be in charge. I am great on a leash, easy in the car, happy in the yard or in the house, I get along with everybody I meet, and have become a great friend to Foster Mom's 10 year old daughter and her 3 other dogs. I am probably happiest when I am snuggled with a human, and would be happy anywhere as long as I have access to that! I am quiet in my crate, but probably do not need one as I have no potty accidents in the house...yay me! I thought about marking a plant in my first hour in my foster house, but I could tell Foster Mom was going to take a dim view of that maneuver, so I resisted, so now I seem reliably house trained at least so far...I am pretty new! I bark at outside noises, but stop when asked. We are working on some minor boundary issues--I am not opposed to jumping on your sandwich if it's in your lap; if I have somewhere to go I just step on it and move on...then you can eat it:). I have shown a bit of food/treat guarding, but I am easy to work with about that so it should not be a problem. Foster Mom says I am really just a sweet, happy, funny, cuddler who can't help but brighten your house and your life! As soon as I get a little bit of vetting done in early December I will be good to go. Oh they also tell me I am pretty handsome too but of course I am the modest type. I am simply requesting a home with lots of love, a good couch and soft blankets:). My forever parents will get to come pick me up hopefully in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley which is where I am for now. Woof and I love you already!
