| Hi Ya!! I am Houdini. I was found wandering the streets and wound up in the shelter. At first I was very grumpy. Once out of the shelter, I have turned into the sweetest, goofy pup ever!!! I was able to escape through baby gates and even my first crate, hence my name!!! I can't tell foster mom if I escaped from my other home and that's how I wound up on the street. I am a mix of dachshund and ???. Foster mom says the genes for my legs and ears got mixed up so I have a little longer legs and shorter ears. I am a long body boy though. I am a handsome fellow. Someone must have trained me. I know to potty outside and go right into my crate for meals and bedtime. Foster mom now puts a clip on the door so no more escapes. I know to sit on command too. Without being asked I even knew to sit at the door when going out on the leash. I tug a little bit on the leash, but not too much. I won't drag you off after squirrels or other interesting critters. I got excited when we saw a dog on one of our walks, but I just play bowed, whined, and wagged my tail. I have definite fetch ability. I would be a great hiking partner. Heck I could probably even jog with you. I just want to be loved and to please you. I enjoy lots of petting and give great kisses. I am a little young so I have lots of energy, but am not too crazy. I get along well with the other dogs here. I realize I am not the ideal dachshund, but boy am I a catch. Don't you need a handsome fellow like me in your life? I live in Wake County near Raleigh NC.
