Guinness is a typical doxie. He is full of spirit, energy, and love. He is sweet and playful. You will not believe that he is a senior dog because he acts like he is a puppy. He loves to play fetch. You may have to hide the ball because he won’t stop! He likes to be around you and will follow you when you move through the house. He is smart and quickly learned how to use puppy stairs. Guinness likes a schedule and will stick to it. He likes to be fed when he comes in from his morning walk and knows around 5pm he will get his dinner. Sometimes Guinness has trouble with steep stairs because of his short, little legs. We started carrying him down the steep set of stairs we have so he doesn’t scratch his belly. Guinness is well behaved. He is used to the crate and doesn’t bark or cry when he is in it. He gets along with other dogs and is fond of children. My family is lucky to have met Guinness. He loves to hug and give you kisses. He is a very sweet dog and you can tell he came from a house where he was treated well and given a lot of attention. He can be a little demanding at times but I assure you, laugh it off. It’s Guinness’ way of letting everyone know he is here and everyone is going to know it! He became a bit of a celebrity in our neighborhood. Families loved him and he loved them back. Often he would try to walk to the children’s houses to say “hello.” Despite his age, he acts younger and is more active that our 2 year old dachshund. Guinness just wants a home where he will get the attention and love he desires from his human family. There is not one negative trait to this sweet and loving dachshund. He is good with dogs and people. Guinness would make a wonderful addition to any family who has love in their hearts. They should be really good huggers too. ****Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Guinness.**** |
