Dusty was living with a family and a dachshund sibling in Pennsylvania. Dusty’s mom had a daycare in the home and the children were allowed to play with the dogs. One day a child fell on Dusty’s back and Dusty was unable to walk.

Fast forward 2 1/2 months and he ended up in a DRNA foster home. He has been to the neurologist and has had laser therapy. He occasionally will get up and walk a little bit but feels more comfortable in his cart or in a sitting and pulling himself around. He goes really fast! When he gets a bath he will stand up when it’s time to rinse off. He is adorable!!!

Dusty does not like being expressed but he will go potty when he goes outside. He wears a belly band all the time but it is usually clean and dry until after he’s been outside. The neurologist said this is a reflex from his spine/brain and memory. He knows when he goes outside that he’s supposed to do something and his body takes over and goes potty. He does not have control of his bowels but knows when he has to go . . . usually in the morning and after dinner.

He loves his foster brothers and sisters and anyone he comes in contact with. He’s good with kids but doesn’t know what to make of cats. He loves to cuddle and go for walks and he is a big talker! He sleeps in a doggie bed with his other handicapped siblings but loves to be on your lap when you’re watching tv. He will sigh and moan when you hold him and gives a huge sigh when he’s falling asleep.

Car rides? These are the BEST! He will curl up and go to sleep in the car for as long as the trip takes. Once he gets his harness on he will sit by the side door and bark until he gets put in the car. I think he’s making sure he’s not forgotten.

Dusty will make someone a wonderful addition to their family. He just wants to be loved and will give that love back a hundred times over.
Dusty is located in East Ohio and waiting for your love. Please fill out an application at www.drna.org
