| Many times in rescue we get called by Animal Control to pick up a dachshund that was found as a stray and wonder "Why isn't someone looking for this dog?" Well, Charlie is one of those dachshunds and why no one came to claimed him during his stray hold is a mystery, He is a stunning chocolate dapple who was neuter young and appears to have been well cared for. He loves people, isn't nippy and wants to be with you at all times. Charlie listens well, but is still getting use to the new name we gave him. He will sleep in a crate at night but is also great at snuggling in the big bed. He is good about pottying outside if taken out frequently and is learning to use the doggie door. But like most dachshunds can be a stinker if it is raining out and you don't go outside with him. His only real fault is that he is sort of Alpha male so would be best with a non alpha female dachshund (he loves to play with the non alpha female dachshund in his foster home). Also Charlie is one of those dachshunds who doesn't deal well with big dogs and non dachshunds. As for cats he showed no interest in them at the Vet, but would need to be further tested to be sure.
