| My “daddy” and “mommy” raised me from a puppy. “Daddy” passed away almost 2 yrs ago. This last year in Sept, I had to have back surgery. “Mommy” then found out she had to have some major surgery and couldn’t take care of me anymore. She was very sad so she said she loved me enough to give me a chance to find a home that could love and take good care of me. So here I am at my foster home. I am now able to walk and control my bowels and bladder very well. ( I have had only 2 “accidents” since control has returned but I didn’t know what I was doing because I was very well potty trained) I have been housebroken since I was trained as a puppy. Foster Mom says I am THE poster dog around here! I still am kind of wobbly in the hind legs, and may always be, BUT….I sure can run fast, even in the snow!!! I have always been the “only” dog in the family until now. It is hard for me to “fall in” but I do fairly well with the other 12 dogs here. I should go to a family with no more than one other dog. I take good care of my toys. I am not destructive with anything.. I don’t mind children unless they get rowdy and noisy. I do like being a lap dog or lay at your side. And of course, I cannot use stairs or be allowed to jump down from any chairs since that may aggravate my back. Maybe I could learn to walk up a ramp to a chair as I walk up the deck ramp here. My bad fault is I am food aggressive. I wasn’t like that until I got with all these dogs and I don’t want them anywhere near my food! They are noisy at feeding time and I try to out bark them, to tell them to be quiet and I want served first! I am a very happy dog but I need my own person again. Could you fill out an application to see if you and I would be a good match??? Please hurry…I just want peace & quiet again like it was at my Daddy and Mommy’s house. Update 05-06-12: Sammy has now strengthened his legs enough that he can walk up and down the doggie steps to the sofa ( custom built with 5 steps). He sometimes still has a slight wobble to his hind legs when he is just standing but can really “burn up grass” when he runs!!!! He now weighs 15.6 lbs…a very good weight for him. He also is a good car rider and walks with a leash well. Potty habits are perfect. He LOVES being beside his person…man or woman. My fee is $275.00 |
