| Folks, I'm not the best specimen of dachshund you will ever see. My legs are long and skinny and my ears aren't long. But let me tell ya - I'm gonna be someone's special doggy. Just look at my pic - isn't it precious? Doesn't my face just make you fall in love? And on top of that, I'm BLUE!!!!!!! Technically, it's kinda blue-grey, but it's officially called blue. I'll sure get lots of smiles and compliments when you walk me!!!! I was pulled from a shelter in Iowa by a caring lady who called DRNA. She really thought I would make a good pet. Let me tell ya, when I got to my foster home, I was sooo sick. I had kennel cough, an upper respiratory infection, and had lost a lot of hair. After some heavy duty drugs, getting neutered, having my teeth cleaned, and making sure my shots were current and I didn't have worms or anything, I finally got to go home with my foster family to recuperate. I am lots better now, and with the help of a good diet, it looks like my hair is probably going to grow back. I'm a happy boy now, surrounded by other dogs to play with, and a foster mommy and daddy who let me on their laps and put me in bed with them at night. I'm a hyper little dude, so if you can't keep up with me, don't call!!!! I like to be on the move (except when I'm sleeping), and jump from one chair to another and run from room to room. I will follow you anywhere, and always wag my tail when you're around. Mom says I've done really good doing my business outside, even though the really cold days are horrible for me. She has put down piddle pads just in case, but I don't seem to know what they are...... I eat like a champ, don't beg, and don't have much interest in treats. I do love toys and bones, and can keep occupied for a while with those. I easily go into my crate when the family leaves, but I don't last very many hours before I will have an accident in the crate - about four hours tops. So maybe I need a home where people aren't gone all day, or where someone comes home at lunch. Don't let my tiny size fool ya - my heart is as big as all outdoors. Add me to your family, and I promise to make you laugh and love!!!!! Have your people call my people - we'll do lunch!! |
