| Hi, my name is Fudge Brownie, my foster mom calls me Fudgie and she says I am super sweet! I was a stray in West Virginia and thankfully DRNA took me in. I am a Dachshund mix, foster mom says that I have a Dachshund body but my coat is like a German Shepherd. I am about 3 years old and I currently weigh approx 30 pounds but I really need to lose some weight and should be just over 20 pounds. I love to go for walks so the weight should come off pretty quick. I came to my foster home in October, I take a little while to settle in and feel comfortable. I currently live with 4 other Dachshunds and a 100 pound Pit Bull who is my best friend. At first I didn’t like her but now I hate to be away from her. I would do best in a home with another dog who is laid back like me. I do like to play with toys, especially tennis balls that I can chase around. I do very well with potty training, my foster home has a doggy door and I use that whenever I need to go outside. During the day the doggy door is closed and I do not have any accidents. At night I sleep on the couch with my doggy friend but I wouldn’t mind sleeping in the big bed too. I have met a dog friendly cat and I ignored it. I would be best in a quiet home without children. My foster mom believes I may have been abused in the past because I get nervous if you try to pick me up. I do not like crates but if you baby gate me in a room that is ok. At first I may bark a lot when you first leave the house so I would not do well in an apartment setting. I always quiet down after about 10 minutes though and I definitely do better after a couple of months, especially if I have a doggy friend. I will only be placed in a home that is within an hour of the Boston area so that we can have a trial sleepover to see if I am the right dog for you! Please contact my foster mom if you have any questions. |
