| Poor Gooch was uprooted from the only home he had ever known after children joined the family. He was then bounced around to several homes also with children on Craig's List before being surrendered to DRNA. It is not that Gooch doesn't like children; he just can't deal with them 24/7. So he will only be placed in an adult only home, with no possibility of children living in the home in the future. Visiting children are fine as long as they know how to behave around and treat a dog. Gooch is a wonderful loving dachshund once he knows you. He is a little shy and nervous at first, most likely the result of being bounced around from home to home so much lately. But once he feels safe and loved, he is your shadow always wanting to be near his human. He really would prefer to be an only dog and not have to share his human with other dogs. Gooch is housetrained and crate trained, but can be left out when gone for the day. He would be fine in an apartment and does well on a leash, so a fenced in yard is not necessary.
