Biography

Little Deiter's papa lost his home to foreclosure and the place he found to live did not allow dogs. Several kind people helped to get Little Deiter to DRNA where he is being well taken care of while he waits for his new forever home. Deiter is a little fellow with a great personality and lots of pep. He is a little skittish with new people but warms up quickly and then likes to be close to his hooman friends. He does ok with respectful children, and with dogs, but wants to chase cats. He does tend toward an alpha personality with other dogs. The vet said he has luxating patellas (his back knees are slightly unstable) so to protect his knees he cannot be permitted to jump off furniture or do stairs.
If you are looking for a great little guy to share your life and love with, take a look at Deiter. He has so much love and fun to offer.
Update 1/2010- Deiter has what is called color dilute alopecia....seen in blue coated dogs. His coat is very thin, and he needs protection from cold and from the sun. He also has had a corneal ulcer which has compromised his vision. He can see, and gets around fine, but sometimes he will walk into an object or have trouble finding a treat you are offering him. However, he remains a wonderful peppy little fellow, who is waiting patiently for his very special forever home. Is that home with you?
