Biography

Hi, my name is Paris. With a name like that, I must be beautiful, don't you think? And to think I haven't even been there. Oh well, maybe one of these days I'll see the Eiffel Tower. I really need a new home. I grew up (I'm 4 now) with a family who decided they didn't have time for me any longer; it made me really sad. And, when DRNA came to get me they found out I had some skin irritations on my tummy - but I got to go to the DRNA vet and they made me feel so much better. I'm lovin' life now!!

In my foster home, I have a dachshund brother and sister with whom to play, but foster mom says she doesn't think I know how to play. I get really excited when Boogie and Roxie play and think I have make them quit, so I'm learning. There are also these other two pets in the house called "kitties". I like them okay, but if you don't have any, that's just fine, too. Then, I won't feel the need to chase them -- WOOF!! I do want a doggie friend, though - I don't want to be alone again, and I must have a fenced-in yard. It's been so much fun to go outside and sit in the warm sunshine.

I was kind of scared of foster dad at first, and it really hurt his feelings, CUZ HE LOVES ME!! But, he was kind and patient and allowed me the time to trust him, which only took a few days. Now, I can barely wait for him to get home from work. Roxie, Boogie and I all sit by the French doors waiting for him to come home when it's close to "quittin' time." Foster mom is at home with us and she takes us all outside to do our potty and play in the yard. She stays with us in the yard; we are never left alone outside. She says a "schedule" is very important. Then, foster dad takes all 3 of us on walks in the neighborhood. I've learned how to walk on the leash really well.

I didn't like the crate very well, but I wasn't used to it. It's okay now. I stay in an ex-pen when foster mom has to run errands or goes for her exercise class. Someday I hope she'll take me to the spa--after all, I think I deserve it.

If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, you can write my DRNA mom; she'll be happy to talk to you. Just remember, we live in Oklahoma and my adoption fee is $275.00. I'm SO worth it!!!! Au Revoir!!!!!

Paris is an awesome little girl. She's at 10 lbs. and that's a good weight for her. She's small and does not need to be any heavier. She should not do stairs, as it is hard on dachshunds' joints. She needs a single person, or a couple who isn't gone long hours, plus a doggie friend. I will not place Paris in a home with small children. She was not treated well by children and she's fearful of them. Her socialization should continue with leash walks and possibly some play dates with friends or a doggie day care. She rides well in the car, too. Please contact me to find out more about Paris, who is a very sweet and loving little girl.
